Oh, my, Thursday was a long day! After a 3:30 am alarm, 5:30 am phone call; 7:00 am alarm. Tried to take a nap, but never fell asleep. Might as well get up! Didn't really accomplish much for the day. Over coffee, I was complaining the TV guide didn't match much on the TV here. (Wasn't thinking the Park has it's own TV system-figured they'd just follow everybody else). Larry told me about a free website for local TV guides. Just plunk in the area code, then pick the provider. http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCGrid.do?fromTimeInMillis=1332529200000 Works good! So, use this wherever your travels may take you. The TV system here won't be in service at the end of the year. All the cables, etc, are buried underground and I guess it's hard to find parts-it's only 25 years old! Dish and local cable providers are busy in the park selling their wares. Will be interesting to see what I might get next year! Talked to big brother. He's doing good after his hip replacement almost 2 wks ago.

Slept good Thursday night. It was 58 at 7:30am on Friday. Great pool day! There were 25 ladies in the pool-and 1 brave man who was trying to get everything in before he left later that morning. Lois, from Eau Claire who lives on this street was leaving at noon. A couple weeks earlier than she really wanted to, but she had children in and out of town and a son willing and able to drive home with her. Enjoyed the sunshine and weather and coffee with Larry & Sharon til after 11! After the patio grill closes, they'll have to bring me a cup of coffee when they come over-or I'll go to their patio for coffee after the pool. Had some lunch when I came home from the pool-no sense beginning with breakfast! Picked up around here a bit. Took a nap in the chair after Days. Had the windows and doors open in the AZ room hoping to pick up a breeze. None to be found. it was 87 high and 81 in the "tin can". Pulled out the 2nd jelly roll package. The strips were in a nice random order, so sewed them together as they came from the package. I think the repeat will show up in the middle. I haven't figured out where the fabrics end up when it's done. Didn't get the first seam completed. Time to put on some better duds and head to the social hall. Talent show tonight. I had heard last year's was real good. I got there at 6:30 for a 7:00 show. The place was packed! These old people have to get to events early to stake their claim. They party with their friends-snacks and BYOB. The beautification committee was selling ice cream sundaes. Chocolate & strawberries. No canned whip cream for me. People just kept coming. They had to set up more tables/chairs. Gee, didn't they know how many tickets they sold? 11 acts in a little over an hour. It was a fun night. Piano solo, a "reading" which was a poem an old fart wrote about their first winter at the park-it was good-hope he let's them publish it sometime. An accordian/yodel performance. A number of women singing with karaoke as the background. The Glory Gals sang. They're a small group from the choir. A husband/wife team as Minnie Pearl and cousin Tim. A really big guy who I've not seen around the park. He did a rendition of Hello Mother, Hello Father. He changed it to Hello Children, it's your fatha, here I am at Camp Mana. Please go home....he was good. We all got a chance to vote. The winners-$75, $50, $25 gift certificates will be announced at Wed. coffee. I might have to forgo the pool to go to the last coffee/donut session of the season. I thought the coffee hour was only for residents, but was told it's open to all.

Saturday was another wonderful pool day. Stayed in the water later, since the "jug ladies" don't meet on Saturday. No coffee on Sat or Sun, either. Stopped by the mailbox and my absentee ballot was there. Had some coffee/toast and took my completed ballot across the street where the neighbors were out. Needed a witness to my signature. Back to the mailbox with it. Larry & Sharon weren't around the pool, so headed off in their direction. They were home, so got the tour of the newly remodeled unit they're renting. It was an oldy moldy park model. A whole new entry and AZ room were added to it. Really decorated nicely-browns and turquoise. It's for sale-don't know the price-so I'm sure that's why it's decorated nicely! Not sure they would leave it like that for full time renters! Not compared to the sparse-ness around here! The AZ room is quite large and around the corner by the back door is a full size laundry behind doors and another bathroom. They can now build larger AZ rooms here at the park. Really fills up the lots-not much space leftover and the parking spaces are quite small, too. Would be a nice investment for someone who lives here longer than 1-2 months. Visited a little while and saw a couple pics of their grandson, Ben, who will be getting a new sibling sometime this year. She just recently found out the donor worked! Back home-phone message from Marie. I had called her earlier to see how Fred was doing. He fell from the roof of a park model (not theirs) at their park. Had been on the roof the day before to clean it and was going up a week ago Thursday to sealcoat the roof. When he swung his second foot to the roof, it got caught in the ladder rung and down he went. His foot was still on the ladder and that's what snapped his ankle. The owner of the unit is a nurse and helped him right away til the squad came for him. Took him to a local hospital with a bone Dr. He later decided he didn't want to touch it-6broken bones. Took almost all day to find a place that would take him/his insurance. A hospital in Scottsdale was the winner. They temporarily set it and have some stabilizing rods holding it in place until the swelling goes down to have surgery. Now it might be Mon-Wed this week. Just depends. Marie has a nephew/family in Scottsdale, so she's been staying there. People from her park have been taking her over and back when she wanted to come home. I went to pick her up, visit with Fred-who's in pretty good spirits considering all the time he's spent on his back! Came back to her park, got her mail, visited a while and went to supper. Told her to call me again if she needed a ride. Stopped for some groceries on the way home.

Not sure what's in store for today. 64 at 7:30 this morning. 84 high and windy today.

Oh, gee, I see it's cooled off and back to spring weather at home!
