Social Butterfly Day

Didn't have time to dawdle by the pool this morning. And, they closed the shower room for cleaning from 9-10. Went to meet the inexpensive chiro. $15 cash or check-no insurance accepted. $35 the first time with an exam and some cheapo x-rays. Wow, he gave me a big old bear hug from the back and wrapped my arms together in front and picked me up and bent me backwards. Wow, you should've heard the crackling going on! Face down on the bench for some pops on the hips and it was over. Going back Fri am, too. Came home since I left the coffee pot on. Meeting Christy and Glee for late lunch - at Paradise Bakery. They brought along Bob, too, so he joined right in the quilting conversations. Had a nice visit. Was near Wally World, so stopped for a few things. Found a few things I need for home, so got them while I was there. Stopped by the beauty school for a patch test - to see if I react to their chemicals. Nope! Didn't, so I can be blonde again on Monday afternoon. Left a message for Karen (Palmer). She had an interview on Tues with AZ DOT. Wanted to know what they were up to for the evening. She left me a message while I was chatting with Roch. They were going to "Chili's" is what I heard. Called her back. (I wasn't too excited to go to Chili"s). Oh well, Karen's always good for a laugh and so are her in-laws. I picked them up. We took the back streets to avoid afternoon traffic in Apache Jct. Superstition Mtn was so clear today! Hardly any haze or dust or whatever it usually is. We got to our destination. "Filly's". Marla and I had come back by there after our Dolly Steamboat ride and wondered what all the cars/trucks were about at that place. The place was packed inside and we wanted to be outside anyway. Picnic tables with umbrellas. Cement dance floor and stage for a band. Lots of fence to hitch up your horse and come in for a cool one. Wednesday specials: $5 pitchers of beer; 12 wings for $5. Karen was watching for cowboys so she could set me up. "How about that one?" Too skinny-I want something to hug! Had a great time telling stories and laughing. Went back to the Rask house for more conversation and water. The beer and chicken were thirsty. Had a message from Marie. Did I want to join them this weekend at the Arizona Opry. Sounds like a good time. I think its a dinner theatre, too. Will call her tomorrow to find out more.

Found the Canadians!

Finally ran into my Canadian neighbors from last year! I was leaving the pool area and they were heading for coffee. Couldn't remember their names, so just yelled-hey Canadians. They looked and just smiled. Then I said, I had Murphy last year. then they stopped! They really liked the Murphy boy, too. They were sorry to hear about him. Larry & Sharon. Larry bought morning coffee, so we enjoyed it outside. Had a really nice visit with them. One of his service buddies is also at the resort and they sat down to join in the conversation a while. They I was really hearing the Canadian accent. Ouuut and abouuuut, aye? Such enjoyable people. Their daughter comes Wed evening and other daughter and family on Friday for about 10 days. They'll be busy and crowded. They have an AZ room and extra big lot. Someone might be sleeping under the stars. Got to work on the twisted table runner. Made the cuts, sewed together, cut off edges and put the center together on the diagonal. I always hate "squaring" up stuff made on the diagonal. Made my best attempt at it. Have the side borders on. Just need the ends and its done. Pic later. After Days, went for new fingers and toenails again. All the customers there were from the resort. One is even getting married here next Saturday. A lot of her family lives year round in the resort. They met in the pool and were pool buddies for a long time before they went out. She said it was love at first kiss. Ahhhh. Headed over to Safeway for some cash and a few groceries. Was carrying in the last of the groceries when Larry & Sharon walked by on their evening walk. Had a new 6 pack in my hand and asked if they wanted a cold one. Guess not tonight. Had some rotisserie chicken for supper. Some tv. Fell asleep by 9 I think. After my nap, I just went to bed! Temperature's rising!

Warming Up This Week

Spozed to be 98 on Friday! Think I'll head to the movie theatre then! Pool time, clean up, blog. Made some phone calls. Heard via women in the pool there's a beauty school not far from here. Have an appointment next Monday for color/cut. Thought I'd get it cut short and see how gray it is. But, it's pretty dark yet, so I'll still be blonde. Also made a call for a local chiropractor. Wednesday is the day. Also made a lunch date with Christy and Glee before she goes home. That's also on Wednesday. Glee sold her unit, so this is her last year for winters in AZ.

Let's start a new project today. Lets try the twisted table runner than Lois made while here. My colors are too "blendy" so I don't think it will show up very well. Guess what color I'm using? Yes, that would be purple. Got it all cut out and some blocks together. Next step is cut diagonally. I read all the directions first and then as I'm doing each step. The pattern was made by a retired electrical engineer. Her directions are pretty good. Talked to Lois in the afternoon. Headed over to the pool and mailbox. Looked at the listing of units for rent next year. Most of them said no pets. Thinking of a way to bring the boys along next year. We'll see. They really like the AC at home when it's hot out. Finished reading Heaven is for Real. Was a bit warm . Turned on the furnace fan in the unit just to keep more air moving. Washed up the kitchen and bathroom rug. The kitchen rug looks much better and the edges frayed on the small rug. It was a regular size bath mat and someone folded it and stitched it together to fit in the small space available for it. Cleaned up the edges with the shears and threw it back on the floor. Even swept the floor today, too. Made a couple burgers on the grill. Fridge is getting down to slim pickens' again. Time for a grocery run soon. Enough vodka for 1 more gimlet it looks like. 2 bottles of beer left, too. That tasted really good when I came back from the pool this afternoon!

Sunday in Tempe

Playing tourist today. Saw an ad for Tempe's Festival of the Arts. Located on Mill Rd near the Arizona State University. We were in this area when "the girls" came to Phoenix about 5-6 years ago in June-115 degrees that summer. It was fine. It's a dry heat! And, everything's air conditioned! Was a nice fair. The first aisle I went down was full of dip mixes, candles, sauces, spices. They must just put all those vendors together. Some very nice jewelery-none came home with me. Some yard-art places. Lots of pottery. The new item is a sponge holder for near your kitchen sink. It's like a cup with 1" cutouts on each side. Saw LOTS of those. Paintings, photography, clothing. Blown glass -kind of flat-that fit in a metal holder. You can put water and fresh flowers in them. A little pricey. Did see some nice little bowls that would work fine for kitty food-but didn't remember when I saw them. Stores along Mill were open for business and a shoe store caught my eye. Bought some new sandals and some flip flops that have arch support in them. Very comfy. She said someone bought some 3 years ago and still wearing them. Found a nice brewery/restaurant for lunch. Went with the grilled salmon. Wonderful! Pecans and dill sauce. Grilled green beans. Garlic rice. that took some getting used to on the first bite. Strolled back to pick up the shoe purchases. Headed out toward Superior/Globe looking for wild flowers. There's a Renissaince fair out that way. I'm only familiar with them in a wooded area-not in the middle of the dessert! Only saw a few flowers. Nothing like last year. Took some different roads home. Didn't do much else today. Some evening tv-that's bout all.

A Full Workout Today!

Kay's husband Ray (electrical engineer) checked out the CD and the player. Both are A-OK. It has to be the socket Seems like there's only 1 socket around the pool that has power to it. Evidently, someone complained at one time about the cord being a tripping hazard, even tho they put chairs over it. The power of 1 complaint vs a group or club asking for something. Yep, politics here, too! Plugged into the upper socket, which was loose, but it held for the duration of the workout today! Just going to hang out at home today. Will go to an art fair in Tempe tomorrow for something to do and somewhere to go. I should take a drive out toward Globe to see how the wild flowers are blooming. Haven't noticed too many yet this year. Sewed the binding on. Sat outside with it a while hand sewing it to see if I can catch some sun on my legs. 1 load of laundry was done, so headed over to pick up the mail and sit by the pool a while. Was listening to my i-pod. Tex-Mex dinner tonight, but I wasn't fast enough on getting a ticket. They had "live" music poolside. The music was ok, but the singing was something else. Think it was a couple of old guys. Didn't see them, but I could tell there were 2 of them. Bad. Did a little reading again. It was a phone morning. Talked with Arlene (Duluth). Had sent a couple text messages, but sometimes it's just easier to talk! Also talked with Peggy (Salt Lake). Haven't talked with her for quite a while. She'd been out of town last week at meetings. Heading to Vegas in April for more meetings (sure). Sat outside to finish stitching the binding. Loosing daylight, I moved the chair from under the carport. Couldn't make it around the last corner. Had to come in and turn some lights on to finish it! Talked with Ann (Racine) also today. Had salad and another heat/eat dish from Fresh & Easy-shrimp alfredo. Was pretty tasty.
A new wallhanging to take me through the summer!

Fab Friday

You guessed it-off to the pool! CD started playing and we got about 1/4 way through and it stopped again! What the heck is wrong here? Blanche got out and plugged it into the top socket then started it up again. so we got a double workout on that section! it's an older player and can't fast forward. We had to stop where we were when the 9:00 class came with their milk jugs. Finished up stitching on the other cactus. Just the binding left. My left arm started hurting again, so I brought in the portable table I brought along. Set it up just in front of the table-now my sewing surface is at table height-not 4" above the table. Works more better! Headed over for the lunch special-fish fry. Went to spend the afternoon with Marie & Fred in Apache Jct. Got a call from Sandy (Schmidt) while driving over and set up a date with her and the family. April 10 right after I pick up Renee. She's inviting Paul over, too. Had a nice visit with Marie. Stayed for early supper with them. Salad and grilled chicken. She still had some leftover birthday cake, so we had that and ice cream for dessert. Was windy over there in the afternoon. Once the sun goes down, it's time to close the windows and doors. Got home after 8. Marie's going to get ahold of Steve to see if he'll be in OK when they head home. If so, I might just go that way, too.

Got this picture of my boys this morning. Missing them!

Happy Thursday

Off to the pool-don't remember what the temp was outside. Part way through our workout, the CD stopped. Not sure if it is the CD or the player. We fumbled our way through the rest of a workout. Funny how we just do it, and don't think about it. Everyone was concentrating on what to do next. At least we kept moving in the water. Shirley (takes care of the CD/player is leaving tomorrow morning for home for a couple weeks. She doesn't have time to get a new one. Kay (of Ray, Kay, Faye Kay) and I volunteered to go shopping if we need to. Later, I was going to take the bike to the recycle area and stop by Kay's place. Front tire was flat. Must be a slow leak. Started walking. 6-9 units south, there's a real handyman. Always working on something. Asked if he had an air compressor. Said sure! I went back home for the bike. He straightened out the stem and filled the tire. Had a cute little compressor. I should get one for my bike and the wheelbarrow always loses aire over the winter. Off and running-or biking. Kay wasn't home, so went on to recycle. Someone is getting a new home. Workers had the old unit on wheels and pulled off the spot. Also, the shed was ready to roll, too. Came back by Kay's house and she was just coming back from a meeting. Invited me in and gave me a tour. Very nice. They bought it new about 20 yrs ago and have taken very good care of it. New floor and new vanity in the bathroom. The AZ room is finished nicely, too. She called Shirley to see if we should go shopping. They plugged it back in and it worked. No shopping trip today (at least for that). Went to work on the applique again. Wanted to try a metallic thread, but no metallic needles. Went to JoAnn's after Days. Needed a new thimble, some hand sewing needles and some more thread. Was a quick trip. Stopped at Fresh & Easy before I headed home. Got some more fruit, bread, some heat & eat meals. Back home, I tried the metallic thread. It didn't really show up, so went with the variegated blue instead. Here, I could've finished that part. Oh, well. Have to try new things. Had to watch Sugarland on Idol. Otherwise, I don't watch Idol. New episodes on Greys Anatomy and Private Practice.

That's all folks!
Just a reminder of the project I'm working on.

Warmer Today

Off to the pool at 48 degrees. Who knew the pool felt so good. Sun shining on the rest of you, so it's great. Clean up. A little breakfast. Birthday note off to Marilyn. She'll get it after her birthday. Sent her an advice column from a 55+ newpaper-Dear Old Bag! What a byline! Might be kind of fun to write for. Checked some bank balances and made a payment. Left a message for Christy. Left a message for Sandy. Marla called with her tale of woa about 14-17" snow she came home to. Wanted to come back, but flights are shut down so may take a couple days! Finished the Door Co book. Can't believe I actually read a book! Took a stroll to the mailbox to mail letters. Had some lunch. Started stitching on the saquaro cactus on my applique. Called the office to report the front patio door lock isn't working. I have to go fill out a form. After Days I put on the old swim suit and coverup and headed to the office to fill out the work form. Sat at the pool-only about 75, so it was nice out there. Started reading Heaven is for Real. Easy read. Goes quickly. Even read more in the evening. Stayed by the pool about an hour. The owner, Sandy had left a message about the front door. Called her back. She and her friend would come over to look at it. They came by within the hour. Of course, now it wasn't sticking and was working ok. He was interested in seeing my quilt top. He's a quilter, too. Sounds like he used to be a dentist. I guess I surprized him with a firm grip handshake-at least he commented on it. Met Mary to the north of me from Manitoba. She was cleaning her parking spot. I had swept up the leaves and dirt on the patio, too. Should take the hose to it to really clean it off. Leftover lasagna and salad for supper. Back to some reading. Updated the blog. Chatted with Travis (Marla's nephew) on fb. My signal wasn't very strong last night-only 2 bars, instead of 3. He asked if I was drinking. Thought that was a good idea so had a beer. I couldn't find MGD 64 in cans, so bought a 6 pack. They don't recycle glass at the resort-how silly is that?! That's about it for this day1

Now Marla's gone, too!

My time here is going fast. 2 friends have come and gone. Took Marla to the airport early this morning. We left about 6:30. Decided to take the 202 to have a gradual increase in traffic. I figured 60 would be packed as soon as we would get on it. 202 was a good choice. Once the 101 traffice joined in, we were 5 lanes of traffic limping along. On the way back I could see it was 6 lanes of traffic all coming together. Only had 3 miles of slow traffic, which was stretching out by the time I got to the exit. Made our way to Terminal 3. Hugs and kisses, and she was on her way. Good thing we came this early. Heading back home, the 202 was pretty crowed, as well. Back home in time for the pool. time was short and it was cool, so drove over. A wet head on the way home wasn't in the cards. Pretty many in the pool. The sun was out and no wind. Pool was w a r m ! Felt good to be back at it. Did some reading again while drinking coffee. Started quilting on the cactus applique project. Completed the corner with the sun. Was still a little cool in the house. Curled up on the couch with the blankie here-to warm-took a nap. Don't remember much of Days episode. Took a hike over to the mailbox. Nada. No junk mail, either. Marla had called while I was gone. Called her back. Snowing already there. She's soooo glad she went home to it! Had talked with Marie during the afternoon. We'll get together on Friday afternoon. Had leftovers for supper. Fried potatoes and roast pork. Froze the rest of the pork. I had to do dishes myself tonight. The maid left me today. It was a TV night. NCIS. Later Parenthood, but it was a re-run. Switched to HGTV. Still had a chill, so pulled out my long jammies for the night. Curled up to watch some tv. Didn't make it long....good thing the timer works on that tv!

1/2 bath from our PA rental last summer taken through the window from the porch.

Rainy Monday

Woke up at 7. The temp wasn't too bad, but the wind was really blowing. Not going to the pool today! Went back to bed. got up again at 8:30. Marla was having some breakfast already-and farming on fb. What shall we do today? Cooked some pasta for crab salad. Been craving that for a while. 2 cooks made for quick work in putting it together. In the fridge to cool. I pieced the backing for the small cactus applique that I started a couple weeks ago. Pinned the top and batting together. Ready for some quilting. Not now. Time to read again. Working on the last chapter of the Door Co. book. Marla is leaving a book with me, too. Heaven is for Real-the young boy who went to heaven and told his parents things he couldn't have known. He and his parents were just on one of the morning shows this week. Yum, the crab salad was pretty darn good. Really cool in here today. Finally turned on the heat to take the chill off. Just like WI-weather changing. AC last week; heat this week! Get warmed up-and guess what-the lights go out. We both ended up with a nap. Cleaned up a bit and headed out. Stopped by the mailbox now cuz there won't be any parking when we come back (bingo). Stopped for gas. Still found some for $2.49. Most stations are higher than that now. Went down the highway to San Tan Village. One of my favorite restaurants is there. Brio. Tuscan restaurant. I had broiled shrimp/orzo with vegs and Marla had lasagna. I now have some leftover lasagna for lunch! Came home and Marla packed. Sure didn't take her long. She packed an outfit for Lois that she left behind and wants before I get home. No alarm here, so set my BB. Let's see how this sounds at 5:30 am!

Another Sunday

Had to have some coffee as we got cleaned up. Went to Paradise Bakery for breakfast. Good stuff! Marla brought 1/2 her croissant breakfast sandwich home with her. It was huge. Then for some grocery shopping. More salad fixings, fruits, vegs for supper and to make crab salad for Monday. At home for a while. Then off to the movies. Saw The Lincoln Lawyer. Very good. We both really liked it. Home again. I became the laundress today. 2 loads. Read the sunday paper outside. We had a great supper-roast pork tenderloin, baked red potatoes, cauliflower and a big salad. Stuffed after that. Usual Sunday night tv. I had to watch Army Wives. Cliff hanger until next week.

Just a relaxing day at home.

Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Jerome and Prescott Valley

Up and at 'em today. Off for a road trip. Packed an overnite bag, too. Stopped for gas and on the way before 9 am. Little over 2 hour drive up to Cottonwood and on to Clarkdale to catch the Verde Canyon Railroad. Got there around 11. Had a sandwich there and waited to board our coach-Tuscon-for our 3.5 hour ride. Next year the railroad will celebrate 100 years in the valley. Copper was mined and smelted in Clarkdale. It is a standard guage railway. Once we had our safety procedures, we were able to go out on the open deck rail car. The route starts at milepost 38 and continues down the canyon to milepost 18.5 in Perkinsville. there was a tape/cd review of what was happening along the various mileposts, as well as the host in the Tuscon car and the outdoor guide. It wasn't long until we spotted a bald eagle in an old cottonwood tree. Didn't catch it digitally, but in my mind. Spotted another one later on who was just sitting on the rocks across the river. Also saw the Sinagua (without water) Indian ruins. Spring is just starting along the river-trees are starting to leaf out. Also a few wildflowers in bloom. More rock formations as we went further down the canyon. They have such imaginations-like looking at clouds and seeing something in it. Elephant rock, Turtle Rock, Trickie Dick and a few others I wasn't able to see. A manmade tunnel is 680' long and curved so you can't see the exit from the entrance. The buildings remaining in Perkinsville are original railroad buildings. Our car stopped next to the old water tank frame. In it's hey-day, P-Ville had 10-12 families. In the 1960's a few scenes from the classic western, How the West Was Won, were shot here. I first saw that movie on a 4-H trip to "the Cities" to view it at the Cinerama theatre. I also rented it from Netflix within the last year. The tracks continue another 18 miles to Drake to meet the Sante Fe/Burlington Northern line. In P-Ville, the engines unhook and use the side track to reverse their location. Looks kind of funny to see 2 engines, then the caboose, then more rail cars. The first class car is now at the end of the train. Back up the canyon to Clarkdale. Same views, but from the opposite angle. Back through Cottonwood. Want to head to Prescott via the old roads, not I-17, which is where "Katie" was trying to take us. She probably knew better. Finally just turned her off instead of constant "recalculating". When all was said and done, I probably should've stayed on Historic 89A to Jerome. Instead, we went through town to pick up 89, which eventually took us into Jerome! OMG, just like the OMG road in Colorado! It almost puts Duluth to shame! Up, up higher, switchback, up, switchback, etc. Not sure how the town hangs onto the side of the mountain. Didn't think to have Marla taking pictures-cuz I had to keep my eyes on the road! Looked like some cute shops and places for libation, but I wasn't seeing any parking spaces. Plus, wanted to get to the other side of the mountain while there was still daylight. We went up to 7000' before we started down again. Made it to Prescott Valley, but didn't stop to look at the map again. I believe we went past Prescott Valley into Prescott and then turned on Katie again to get us to our hotel. Went through Prescott back out to Prescott Valley. Checked in and checked out the room. Out for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. hmmm, love those baked sweet potatoes. We both had 6 oz sirloin and commented about it when we were kids. I thought it wasn't the best cut of meat-like the bottom of the freezer. Marla hated that it was always fried or pressure cooked-never on the grill. Glad I brought my fleece along. Was a bit cool at night up there in the elevation.

Saturday morning breakfast at the hotel. Got checked out. Headed to 3 quilt shops-which happened to all be within 3 miles of where we stayed. One had some fabric, but had 2 long arm machines and quite a few quilt tops/backings hanging on hangers to be quilted. Very nice little white haired lady worked there on Saturday. Then to a Bernina dealer that had Great Fabrics! Soo much fabric-soo much stash already. Bought three 1/2 yard pieces with someone in mind. The last shop had way more upholstery fabrics and drapery supplies. Nothing of interest. Home James. Had Katie programed for a Red Hat store in Sun City. When we got there, all we found was residential. Nary a store to be found. Stopped at a sports bar for a quick bite and to check the phone book. When we really looked around, we were the only women in there-it was the "betting" kind of sports bar. Horse races, NASCAR, basketball, you name it. Seemed to be mostly old guys-60++++. Checked the phone book and used the hotel computer. Same info as we had for the red hat store. Ok, we tried to find it. Marla's red hat group was interested. Home James. Got home and opened up thewindows again. Neither one of us had much ambition - couldn't decide what we wanted to do. I couldn't get into reading the last chapter of my book. Talked with the 4th Antrim gang who were having a quilt retreat in Osseo. Marilyn was also able to get away for the weekend with them. Used leftovers and made some nacho chips for appetizer/supper-along with another gimlet. Planned out some meals for the rest of Marla's visit. Plan to make a visit to Paradise Bakery for breakfast and a movie for Sunday's excitement.

Corned Beef & Cabbage Day

Ah, yes, there was a wee bit of green going on in the resort today. Even in the pool-no it wasn't green! Staying home today. Did some reading outside again. Down to the last story in the book. Can't believe I'm really reading. Marla had to watch me to make sure. Made up an Excel spreadsheet for Marla's mileage for her volunteer work with the hospice. Then she can just refer to the chart when she logs her miles. Went over for corned beef & cabbage for lunch. Was really tender-no need for a knife to cut it. Was really good. Sat with Kay (from the pool) and her husband Ray. He has a sister Fay Kay. Good story and you'll remember their names that way. Back home with the local grocery ads. Seems warmer today than yesterday. I sewed the top of Rte 66 together. I've ripped apart the backing so I can move some blocks around-especially blocks I don't care for will be moved to the outer edges that will get cut off more. Went outside to find a breeze again. None to be found. Gave in and turned on the air and closed up the windows. It works! Didn't take long to cool off the place. I was reading; Marla went to the bedroom to watch tv. I went to investigate what she was up to and heated up my bag of rice to put under my knee. Was working nicely, so I got out a new bag I bought last week at market day and heated that up for my hip and down the left leg. Watching NCIS reruns. Marla got thirsty for a gimlet. Too hard to drink those while laying in bed. Moved to the chair with my drink and wheat bag. Helped relax the muscles. We had leftover Mexican food and salad for supper. Was good the 2nd time around, too. Spent a little time checking out our plans for tomorrow. Going to the Verde Canyon Railroad tour. 3 1/2 hour train ride. It's about 2 hours away. More later...

Water Excursion Day

Off to the pool for me. Marla came later to watch what was going on. Sat outside for a while-cooler with a breeze blowing through. Had some breakfast. While sitting around, I decided to pin together the rows of my quilt. Then the land lady came by to introduce herself and look at the floor. The kitchen vinyl has a slit in it. Seems to be getting worse while I'm here. Should've asked her for $15 and I would leave the new toaster here! She was checking for weeds outside, too. Very nice lady. Glad we had picked up the place again. She and a male friend have a motor home and go all over, so she's not here much anymore. Made sandwiches for lunch. Headed out on Apache Trail toward Canyon Lake. Get into that mountain driving mode-hairpin turns and corners and more turns and corners. Got to Canyon Lake about 3. Sat under the patio roof and waited. Nice breeze there, too, for 88-91 degrees. Got our tickets for the Dolly Steamboat narrated ride around the lake. Some of the last to get on board, so we were inside on the lower deck, but right by a window. VERY nice ride-would do it again, Renee. Relaxing. Gorgeous views. Saw some eagles soaring. The only other wildlife we saw were some spring break campers mooning us! Didn't get there pictures, though. After the Dolly ride, went up the canyon 2 more miles to Tortilla Flats. They roll up the streets at 6 p.m. and it was that! OK, guess we're not having supper here tonight. Back into town and driving around. Went to a Mexican place I found last year. A peach and triple berry margarita (yes, Racine friends-margaritas) were ordered. Chips came with the usual mild sauce but also bean dip. YUM! Had a little kick to it. I ordered the special quesadia and Marla ordered the appetizer sampler. Guess what we're having for supper tonight! We even have guac. and sour cream and bean dip to go with them. Quiet night at home. Not much on TV tonight. Fresh air today, we were in bed by 10 with the sleep timer on again.
Hard to believe the cacti can grow on the side. The canyon was created from volcanoes. The water can rise or fall by a foot a day depending on how much electricity is generated.

Marla's Coming!

Got to the pool on time today to get my little piece of the wall! Fewer people, tho, so plenty of room for all. Quick breakfast and over to the GMC dealership close by. Had an appointment for oil change and rotate so I'm ready for some road trips and the bigger trip home-but that's a month away yet! NICE service writer. Great customer service skills. No ring, either. Took along my book to read. Jeremie came to see me about a new air filter and cabin filter. With my allergies (which are behaving themselves so far) I decided to go for it. Was out of there within an hour. Found a Target close by, too. Needed a couple items and found a toaster for $15. It came home with me. Afraid to use the one that's here! Tidied up the place -Marla's coming. Even made an attempt to dust! The wet wipe didn't do very well on the glass end table. Oh well. Headed out to the airport. Still made it there in 1/2 hour. All the traffic was coming out of town-60 was getting full eastbound and the 101 was almost a parking lot going south. Red lights, too. Made my way past Terminal 4 to Terminal 3. In the wrong lane to get into the cell phone lot. Well, let's see where I end up. Ok, Terminal 3-around the corner to the right-oh, there's more doors to come out. Glad I know there's a north and south exit. Made my way back around Terminal 4 and took the cell phone lot there to wait. Took my book along. Must be close to done with the 2nd story. Marla called-she was at baggage, but no luck yet. She called me when she had bags in hand and what door she was at. North 7. Ok, I know how to get there. Made my way back to the 202 and we were home by 5:30. I started the grill while Marla unpacked. We both opened a beer to quench our thirst. 88 when I headed to airport. Grilled chicken, green salads, leftover pasta w/marinara sauce. Pretty darn good! Marla did the dishes. She managed to stay up til almost 10-then she went to bed. I wasn't far behind and put the tv on sleep timer. I barely remember Leno coming on. Lights out!

Monday

Slept in this morning-woke up at 6 and crawled back into bed. 7:45! Better hurry my buns to the pool! WOW, the pool was packed. No place for me along the wall by the 4' sign. I was delegated to the 3' area. Hard to do the exercises in that little water. Yes, me, saying I like 4' of water when I afraid of anything over my waist. But, there's always an edge or noodle to hang onto. The hot tub is out of service this morning. That always feels so good after exercising. Made coffee and went outside to dry off and read some more. Finished the first story in Door Co. Xmas. I guess I just need light reading...who knows, maybe I'll have to go visit the library here and get another book later. Went grocery shopping. Need salad fixings again. Bought some chicken, beef and a small pork roll roast. Guess I'd better freeze some of it for later. Late lunch, Days and then washed the towels and swim suits. Also washed the sheets since there's company coming. Sat outside-a slight breeze thru the carport-and read a little more. No sewing today, either. Will have to tidy up a bit tomorrow for Marla's arrival. Amazing how fast everything gets a layer of dust.

Lois took a pic of the traffic around PHX on 3/2. Have to pick up Marla during afternoon rush hour. I won't be taking any pictures of that while driving!

Day of Rest

Been working/playing too hard. Took the day off. Tried sleeping in-it was later than I usually get up. hung out in my jammies for quite a while. No sewing today. Cleaned up the dishes, got the recyle materials together and took a bike ride over to the pet area to dispose of them. Only a couple little ankle biter dogs in the pet area. Rode the bike back to the pool area and sat and did a sudoko puzzle. By then it was getting too hot without any sunscreen. Back home. Finally showered and cleaned up. Was a breeze outside, so sat and started reading A Door County Christmas. Maybe I'll get into this reading stuff afterall. Got ready to meet up with Ken & Marion. They're at a campground just east of me. Really close by. Didn't realize they went touring in a big bus. Ken gave me the nickel tour with the 2 door bathroom. Visited a while and then off for pizza at the Organ Stop Pizza. Huge Wirlitzer organ with all the bells and whistles-and then some. Unique place. I've seen it advertized, but not been there. The organ rises and goes down again when they take a 5-10 min breather in between sets. All kinds of percussion instruments all over the place that get played depending on the song. They play requests, a couple birthday songs while we were there and some sing along songs. Back to the big rig and a bit more conversation. They have lots of relatives to visit yet on their trip. On Saturday, Ken went with Jim Holmes to a tractor pull. Gene & Sandy Schmidt were there, too. He certainly recognized Paul as a Kragness! Small world. I need to call Sandy yet and make plans to meet.

Busy Saturday

Up early today. Guess I'll sew a couple seams on the quilt back. Pool time. Small group on Saturday's. Kind of lazy in the morning. Enjoying my faster speed on the Inet and playing around. Made a "Smilebox" slideshow of the quilt show and posted that. Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the quilts. Always inspirational-sometimes think my quilts are pretty boring compared to some of the artsy ones. Called some home-home (Chip Falls) friends of my brother. They just live down the street from me. They moved to Mesa from Benson, AZ for March and better weather. Will meet them for supper Sunday night. Keep forgetting to tell about a car I saw the other day. Small Toyota-painted yellow. Was an exterminator company. Had a big mouse tail out the center of the back bumper. Also had 2 black ears that flopped in the wind on the roof. I never saw the front end to see if it had whiskers-I'm sure it did. Pretty good marketing tool!
Between working on the slideshow, I laid out the blocks for the Rte 66 top. Took a couple pics to see if anything glared at me. Kept going back to it and changing out a few blocks. Went to the social hall for the Wood Workers cookout. All the clubs do fundraisers for equipment or updates for their areas. The WoodWorkers have a hamburger cookout. I wasn't too far from home when I could smell them. Hmmm good. Burger, fixings, chips, baked beans for $5. Not bad! Soda extra-maybe that was another club. Went to sit by the pool to finish my drink. Saw Blanche sitting there so went to join her. She's one of the pool ladies-86 and very welcoming. Is sure to say it's good to see you back today if you miss a day. Her 90 yr hubby was in the pool with another guy. they were working on some back exercises. Blanche was telling me about owning at Carriage Manor. You own the unit and the lot. Most others, you own the unit and continually rent the lot. Home owners fees are $148/month. Phone and electric are extra. She said it costs about $2500/year for the fees. A couple months of renting it out pays the fees. Hmmm....there is a unit for sale for $45K. Must be something wrong with it. Looked it up online later, but there's a sale pending. Oh good, I'm safe.
Wanted some music so finally downloaded itunes on the laptop and took some songs off my little ipod. Certainly isn't high quality stereo from the laptop, but better than nothing. Kept working on the quilt top. Had all 6 rows pieced together so I could sleep in bed! Had some leftover wine during the last 2 rows. Wasn't as good as when uncorked. Watched a little late nite TV. Lights out.

AZ Quilt Show

Off to the pool. Slow to clean up, as the show will be super busy at 9:00. Will plan to go later. Change of plans. Phone message from the Inet service. They'll be in the park this afternoon between 3-5 if I still want the antenna booster. Left them a message back-YES, I want it. Shortly after 10:30 when I headed off to the convention center. Wasn't watching for a turn, so went a couple blocks out of the way. No problem. Toured the parking lots for almost a 1/2 hour. I was ready to park in the hotel lot and take my chances. Just happened to catch some folks walking to their vehicle and finally got a spot. Viewed a few vendors and then started in on the quilts. Another year of great quilting! So many quilts, sew much time involved in making them. Happened upon a blue ribbon for a miniature quilt-it was one of Christy's. She likes putzzing with paper piecing and log cabin patterns. Just a bit of silver lame" and a few chrys tals finished her project. I went around the corner to another row. 1/2 way down the row I had a tap on the shoulder. It was Christy-she was a "white glove" lady. (they turn the quilt for you so you can see the back or any detail work). Congrats on 2 blue ribbons!

Toured through the one room of quilts and vendors. Time for some lunch. Lunched outside in the shade and viewed my pictures and messages. Back in to purchase some items from the vendors in the first room. The "Fat Quarter" lady was there, so had to pick up some colors again. Actually, I used a lot of fat quarters in my Rte 66 quilt top. So, I do use from my stash! Off down the hall to view the raffle quilts-didn't take any "opportunities" as they're called here, as rafflle is a bad word here. Into another room of vendors. After all the quilt shops along the way and earlier in the week, I'm starting to get tired of seeing fabric. Always see some patterns that are good to have. Once around the last room and I escaped through a side door back outside. A short hike to the car and I was off. 88 or 90 on the car thermometer. Rolled down the windows and let the wind blow. Once I hit the freeway, I turned on the air. Got off a couple exits before mine to find the name of a Buick/GMC dealer. Later called and made an appointment for oil change/rotation next week. Then ready to roll for a couple day trips with Marla next week. I was barely home and the Inet guy showed up with the booster. YEAH, I'm a happy camper now. pages move much faster now. Played online for a while. Called Ken (rehab) to chat with him and let him know I made it fine (2 wks later). He was thinking of calling me this weekend to see how things were going. Now he can make a report at rehab! Couldn't make up my mind about supper, so went to Applebee's. Tried a new dish-terriaki shrimp and noodles. Won't order it again. didn't taste much like terriaki-and had some funky green leaf in it that I didn't really care for. Oh well. Here's a few pics from the quilt show:

Mexican Star-I bought this pattern the first time in AZ

On My Own

When I was getting ready for bed, I remember taking off my earrings, then my right ring-and there was no left ring! What happened to it? I don't remember taking it off anytime during the day. What did I do, where could it be, did it slip off while doing dishes? I'd have heard it in the garbage disposal. Did it come off when I washed my hands after getting my nails done? These questions mulled through my head during the night. I had visions of going thru the garbage at the nail salon. Not a pretty thought. I even soaped up my hand and pushed it down into the garbage disposal-nothing. Ok, lets dump out the jewelry bag. Sure enough, there it was! I must have taken it off first-without any thought. So glad! White gold/ tanzanite from Park City Jewelers.

No pool time this morning. Off to visit Christy's sewing room program. Show and Tell. What's left? They just had their quilt show on Saturday! And there were some nice ones. One lady didn't think she was a good quilter and had brought about 6 completed quilts. She completed the binding on them over the winter. She also needs to enter the show next year. Kept seeing a repeated pattern at the show. They held a class with Shelley Swanland. The pattern is a catheral window. Looks very interesting. Will have to check it out online. Bought some raffle tickets for their "color" quilts. They draw a crayon and make a 12" quilt exploring that color. The drawing is next week. Christy and another woman from their sewing group had entered the AZ Quilt Show and were notified yesterday they are winners. They didn't know what-they would find that out Thursday afternoon at a reception for the winners.

Stopped by the Safeway store, as they have USBank and ATM there. Need some cash if I'm going to the quilt show tomorrow! Had some lunch, and be darned if my eyes were dry again and closed for about 2 hours today! Cleaned and put them back in again. Made a few seams on the backing for my quilt. Took a walk around the perimeter of the park. Looking at units that are for sale. More than I want to invest. Back to the computer lab for a couple hours of catching up. Even played a couple games of soduko.

sniff, sniff, LoLo goes home

It's hard to believe we've been together for nearly two weeks between traveling and being here at the resort. One last pool time for Lois. Made quick work of showers and getting ready. GPS says its only 1/2 hour to airport. We'll see how the traffic is. Went well-timing was about right. Seems to be easy enough to get around. They have cell phone lots, so when Marla and Renee come, I can wait there until they call me. Then I can go pick them up vs. circling the airport. GPS had me come back home via the 202. I was planning to do that, as 60 was a parking lot going east. Went to get my toes and fingers done. Close by the resort-right behind Walgreens that is on the corner from the resort. Had some time before Days, so cleaned up the dishes again. I seem to have trouble staying awake in the afternoon. Do my contacts get too dry here that I have to close my eyes for an hour? Is it the heat, that I need a siesta? Picked up a book Tootie gave me for Christmas to get myself back up to date. Kari called while I was outside. Now I have her new phone number. She was on her way to work. She's really busy right now with the baseball training camps. She's working extra to keep her mind off Ryan-just went to Afghanistan-and Stepanie-just moved to Miami. She's not sure who she's more worried about! Lois called. She was at my house. She played phone messages for me so I can return or ignore them. Came to the computer lab to catch up on the day's news and events. Can't believe what happened in Madison. What a mess. Catch up with jsonline.com but the vote was on local news here last night. Otherwise, a quiet night at home-by myself.
Driving down to Phoenix from Cottonwood. Lois was trying out the timer. It worked!

Seeing More Friends

Pool time. In my new suit and cover up. When we got back, Lois became the laundress. Whites, darks and light colors. She did a good job, too! I was working on the backing for the Rte 66 quilt. Used the smallest fat quarter to cut them all the same size. Then I finished up the scrap pieces into the same size. Now I have 12 fat quarters for the back of the quilt. I'll measure again, but I think I will still need some additional borders. Maybe I should work on the front layout, so I really know what size to make the back.
I fired up the grill out back. The ignitor wasn't working. Came in looking for some matches and just found a few in a drawer. POOF, it started. I had cleaned off the grate, but it really needed to burn off. I closed the lid and came back later to flames. Finally burnt off. Hamburgers tasted mighty good. carrots that keep trying to freeze and cauliflower along with sweet potato chips and beat chips. Lois was now packing clean clothes, new fabric and new clothes. She was deciding what to leave behind for me to bring home. There is now 2 bags, along with a pillow and winter coat. We went to the computer lab. She needed to check in for her flight and print a boarding pass. I used the time to post more to the blog. I can plug in directly in the computer lab. Still haven't heard from the wireless folks. I would think they would just stock those antennas. Oh, well, this works in the meantime. Think I'll ask for a week's refund, tho. Back home for some last minute primping up then off to the grocery store for brat buns. Went to visit Karen & Palmer (college friends-Poplar, WI). They were visiting Palmer's brother & sister in law. Partying already going on between 2 trailers. Brought along our wine bottle. Karen & Palmer had been looking at double wide's as possible winter home. They went to Las Vegas after they arrived on 3/1. Now back in the area. Had a great time with them and the neighbors. They are all from MN. They also go rock hunting and now have a cutter and polisher. She had some nice pieces. Back home and a little TV before we hit the hay.

Shopped til we Dropped

Monday-pool time-clean up. Shopping day. JoAnn fabrics-I need batting for the Rte 66 quilt and it's 40% off. 15 people in the check out line and only 1 register open. Left the line. We'll be near a larger store later today. Down a few store fronts to Bealls outlet. Mondays are Sr. Citizen day. 15% off for those over 50. We each bought new suits. We had a list of quilt stores to visit and the GPS ready to go. The first store turned out to be machines and parts only. No fabric. On to visit 3 Dudes. I know it's just off the highway. I wasn't believing what "Katie" was telling me to do. This just isn't looking familiar. Ok, let's go with "Katie" and see what happens. Now I get it. 3 Dudes are off I-10, not the 101. Now it makes sense and looks familiar again. Ray gave us a demo of a quilt pattern he's developed and the free pattern. I can share, if you wish. I found the book of patterns to use with the X block templates. I've been looking for it along our many quilt store stops. Another stop. Yes, they could direct us to Paradise Bakery & Cafe. I knew there was one in the neighborhood. Had a late lunch and took the laptop along so we could use free wifi. That's how I've posted the previous 3 days worth of blogs. But, you can't copy/paste into the blog from Word. Dang it, had to retype it all. One last quilt store, and we were shop-hopped out. Let's get some gas ($3.41) and head to Fresh Produce for some new clothes. One sales lady and she had a great sense of humor. We left her with a disarray of clothes to put back in place. But. we spent enough to make it worth her while. Stopped at the JoAnn store-large, clean store and I got my quilt batt. Back home about 7:30. Talked with Karen (& Palmer). They're staying with his family not too far away. We;'ll be joining them for brats Tuesday night. They leave early on Wed. morning, so no ride sharing to the aeropuerto.

Projects together-just need quilting!

A wee bit cool this morning in the house, so we used our fleece as robes. Coffee, coffee cake and cuties were the breakfast of the day. Got cleaned up. I put the borders on my little wall hanging. Lois has been cutting more pieces for more projects (over achiever). I started piecing together my leftovers for the backing for my Rte 66 quilt. I bought fat quarters of Rte 66 fabrics last year while herel. Nothing like making the trip again, to get me to working on it. Made all the blocks before I left home. I'll let Marla help lay them out when she gets here. She likes doing that. Would like to get the back pieced together, or at least laid out before Lois leaves on Wed. Meeting Jim & Lois' friends Jerry & Judy for lunch today. They live on the far west side of the valley, so they drove 40 miles to meet us on the western side of Mesa. Nice visit with them. Then we were off to the Heard Museum. They were hosting the Indian Fair and Market. Many booths of jewelry, baskets, weavings, blankets, sculptures and pottery. Quite interesting. Whole families came to sell their wares. Interesting to see them playing with their smart phones and wearing designer glass frames. Very nice afternoon-80 degrees, but the sun was under the clouds.
Back home by 5:30. Had to return a call to Ms Emily. She was having her knowledge a thon for day care. Eric talked to me more than she did. I'm not sure she knows all her answers. Looks to be a quiet night on the homefront. Need to watch Army Wives-season starts again. (missed it-even the tv guide in the paper had it wrong). Also have to make our plan of attack for the next 2 days before Lois leaves to be with Jimmy B again. I think he's missed her...and verse visa.

Carriage Manor Days

Saturday morning off to the pool. Only 6 of us, as everyone else was getting ready for Carriage Manor Days. Parade is at 10 and it lines up in front of our unit. Kind of cute. Folks decorate their golf carts and different clubs participate. Complete with color guards and vets of many varieties-even some starched navy uniforms! Lois made a dandy omlette for breakfast. I used the stool to get the toaster down-a real toaster-not a toaster oven like last year (burnt toast, black smoke). One look at the electric cord and I put it back on the shelf. Probably from the 60's-fiber wrapped cording-and not in very good shape. Talked with Marie (Janesville) today. Told her I had met up with Neil and he was excited about home made cookies. We'll get together soon.

Went to an art, craft and quilt show at Valle del Oro resort today. That's where Christy and Glee (Racine quilters) live and play during the winter. Very nice quilt show, complete with demo's and free patterns. Christy invited me over for next Thursday's quilt club show and tell. Think I'll have anything to bring along? Stopped at a small quilt store in the neighborhood. We both walked out empty handed-can you believe it? A few groceries and LIME JUICE later, we headed home. I finished some posts for the blog and headed over to the computer lab. Closed til Monday. Lois took the movie back and tried to buy a Sunday paper on Saturday night. They thought she was crazy-what's the problem? We can do that at home! Rotisserie chicken and potato salad chased with a vodka gimlet. I was falling asleep after 8. Finally gave in and went to bed at 9 and slept til 7. Guess I was tried!

Pool Time

Friday we were up and to the pool for 8:00 exercise. I recognized quite a few women from last year. Some remembered me, too. Felt good to play around in the water again. Hope to work out the kinks in my hip and shoulders. Back to the hacienda to clean up and get on with the day. I called the inet provider to order the antenna. It's spozed to be in next week-hope it's early on! They'll call when its in the make an appointment to come over. Lois was busy with her twisted runner. She almost threw it in the corner last night. Now it was coming together. I had problems the night before with the applique adhesive stuff-but I also prevailed. Got my project glued down, now just a few seams to put it together. Lois finished hers-I have to get mine done-don't want to be left in the dust! I had to knit a while during "Days". Ellen isn't on until 4:00 here. I tried out the old trusty bike that came with the unit. 1 speed-my own-and old fashioned brakes, too! Almost forgot how to do that! Took a spin down to the security gate to give them a slip. We took a trip over to Walgreens to pick out a movie from the Red Box. Red was the winner. Went to another grocery store to pick out something for supper. Fresh & Easy. They make a lot of prepared items to heat and eat. Still no Rose's lime juice, tho. Now we had some dish soap, so Lois cleaned up the kitchen while did the heating of supper so we could eat-penne pasta/sauce with cheese bread. Lois finished the merlot from a couple nights ago. I had milk with mine. Lois was sawing logs in no time. Guess we'll watch the movie tomorrow before 7 p.m.

Home Sweet AZ Home

Just a little fixer upper between Albekwerkie and Flagstaff

Thursday morning we tried sleeping in, but up early anyway. After we got cleaned up and some breakfast, I took Lois on a tour of the resort buildings and classrooms. I asked some ladies in the pool if the 8:00 class still met. She said yes, but I was welcome to join her group at 9:00. They use empty gallon milk jugs for resistance in the water. Just took it easy on Thursday. We contacted the Mesa Arts Center, but tickets were sold out for the Friday night only Ricky Nelson Review done by his twin sons. Took a trip to Best Buy to hopefully purchase an antenna booster so my laptop could pick up the wireless signal. They don't have anything like that in the store anymore. The 3rd person, a female, gave me some info on where to purchase it online. In the meantime, the local wireless co. called back. They have them too, and come to install it and show you how to use it. They had someone at the resort working on the internet, so asked if I could give it a try again on Friday. By the afternoon, we were both working on a project. Lois was working on a table runner that has twists going around the center blocks-pix later. I went to work on a wall hanging I bought here last year. Cacti and the sun. Wine with dinner. I had a little extra. Took a nap in the chair before I went to bed.

S L O W Inet

I've given up! I ordered the antenna booster. Spozed to come in next week sometime. Too used to being "connected" with everyone-and when I want it! using the computer lab here today.
Wednesday morning we had coffee with Mary & Doug. Mary & Lois took her Caddie and I followed down 89A to Sedona through the Oak Creek Canyon. Dang it, I forgot to give Lois my camera. When we got there, she realized she had her camera in her pocket! It was so beautiful coming down the canyon. Much better coming down than going up like Marla and I did 1 1/2 years ago. Still snow on the mountain tops and melting water running down the hillsides. Seeing the red rocks is always wonderful. We had breakfast at the Coffee Pot-a local establishment. then we headed over to the quilt store. Yep, more fat quarters and maybe a pattern later. On down the road to Cottonwood. Mary had only been to this store once before-and we backtracked through town again to get there. Here we parted ways. She went up the canyon, and we headed down to I-17 for the 2 hour trip to Mesa. Always fun to see the cacti again. Some green, but not as vivid as last year with all the rain they had. Good sights, just the same. Checked into the resort about 3:30. Got unloaded and just sat for a while and checked out the new unit.

Have You Missed Me?

Monday morning we slept in and took our time getting our proverbial together. Since the complimentary breakfast was in another building, we skipped it and went to the Waffle House. I haven't been in one of those in years! We had checked the local yellow pages for quilt stores. Found about 4 or 5. Mapped them out and off we went. A couple patterns, a few fat quarters and frivolity in 3 stores. Kokopelli or Southwest Decorative Fabrics was our favorite. Spent quite a bit of time there. When they heard we were from WI, they asked if we were the "runaway Dems". We were called Thelma and Louise at Block Party when in IA. They had quite a variety of fabrics. Now it was 1:30, so we decided to hit the road. As Lois was looking at the map, she called Mary in 'Flagstaff to see if we could come now, as long as we were already north. We pulled in around 6:30. Mary & Doug had the bubbly on ice waiting for us. And it flowed.

Tuesday morning Mary had the coffee and coffee cake ready for us. Conversations. Doug left for golf in Sedona. Lois and I left to check out the quilt store on the other side of town. Mary had some errands and appointments. We got back around 12:30 and helped ourselves to lunch. Mary was back as we were finishing. Then we were off to Williams to the Mercantile. More fat quarters for the stash! A trip across the street to a Rte 66 store. Lois got a cap for Jimmy. Back to Mary's. She started din din and put it in the oven. They only have dial-up service at their house and I didn't ask to use their computer, so that's why you haven't heard from me. Now the red wine came out before dinner and along with dinner. Doug was entertaining us with music from the 60's and some of his favorites. And the Irish Mist was flowing for him.

This morning we had coffee and coffee cake again. Mary and Lois in her Caddie and I followed behind down the Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona. What a gorgeous sight! Much better views going down than climbing up-like Marla and I had done 1 1/2 years ago. The red rocks are so gorgeous. Mary took us to the Coffee Pot - the local hangout where they have 101 omlette choices. Then to the quilt shop in Sedona. Yep, more fat quarters later.....then down the road to Cottonwood and a wrong turn and back tracking got us to the shop there. I came out empty handed this time. I was getting anxious to get down the hill and checked in. I have a GPS this year. It has an English lady speaking, so we've dubbed it "Katie". It took us 3 days to figure out one of the sayings-"slip road". We finally decided it was the ramp and "slip" into traffic. Coming down from the mountains was a great feeling again. To see the cacti and dessert. Made our way around town and checked in before 3:30. This unit has some better remodeling than the one I had last year. No AZ room this time, tho. I didn't use it very much last year. Nice large carport/patio area. May be sewing outside some days. We unloaded the car and later unpacked. I got connected. Grocery shopping-found more red wine, a new bottle of vodka and olives-they were out of Rose's lime juice. Wine and salad for dinner tonite.
More pictures later-inet not cooperating-same story as last year....
